RIP Maico Buncio

I went to the wake last night and had the chance to talk to Maico's better half Sulji. What other doesn't know, Maico has been a good mentor to me as well.. we first met in Boomland during my debut race, talked a little in some occasions like IR bikefest and the last time was the Colt 45 race. We sometimes exchange message on FB re advices he can give...

MAICO died because of the steel rod that protruted his lower abdomen part that cause his one kidney to crashed and a half of his liver damaged...

Maico could have been alive had the medical team cut those steel rod instead than pulling Maico away that caused him to lose a lot of blood. Mike Altamira was there sitting with me and Sulji talking about what happened. contrary with the slim chance that Maico also wont survive because he slammed hard against the concrete barrier.. HE WAS STILL CONSCIOUS and shouted hard when those medical stupid guys pulled away Maico from the steel rod.... Maico was still conscious when he was rushed to the hospital... Even talked to John John asking where they were, seems Maico lost a little part of his memory. He even asked John John if they were at Malaysia...

Maico while holding onto his critical condition, still managed to look for Sulji. Maico even gave the number of Sulji so she can talk to Sulji....

Maico and Sulji talked for a while letting each other know how much they love each other until the time that Sulji couldnt understand him anymore... Maico murmuring already :(

Maico was moved to UST since the hospital they confined Maico at doesn't have enough blood to sustain Maico's condition, his aunt is also a doctor there as per what my memory serves me right...

so what totaly killed Maico was the fact that the Medical team pulled him away from the protruded steel rod.. if the concrete barrier wasn't there... then maico should have been alive.....

Sulji couldnt stop talking how Maico loves his passion and all the people around him, how Maico wanted to uplift the 2wheels racing in our country and how happy Maico is whenever fan would hug him...kiss him and etc....

hitting the barrier or slamming his self did not even give Maico any fractures nor unconscious... as per AUTOPSY done.... Maico has strong body according to Sulji and Maico didnot want people to see how bad he was feeling so nobody actualy had any idea except close friends how Maico was doing at the Hospital. Thus shocked the whole 2 wheels industry upon learning Maico did not make it :(

Sulji told me everything what happened... beyond what audience saw the day Maico got into that freak accident...

nakakaiyak si Sulji kasi she is showing such courage and said getting the strength from maico... although you can see from her eyes how bad she is hurting... she doesn't know where to start anymore, shes been with maico since 3rd grade... been classmates eversince and planned of getting married in the near future...

This is truely a shocking incident I hope we've learn a lesson, for our selves, for those race organizers, for track owners and also sa local goverment. Legal races on a bad track is as Deadly as illegal race on a Highway. This Race track should pass the Race track safety standards Goverment and Private sectors. Who's liable in this incident? Who's to blame? Is this an act of Negligence? What a waste of talent! Dissapointed!

We all know we can't stop an accident. If its going to happen its goin to happen, Right? but this should'nt happen its that stupid thing was'nt there.

O.T.
There are lots of accidents on two wheels... Comonwhealth Highway almost every week is on the news sometimes everyday on TV. One time I was ridding along Comonwhealth from a tambay night with PSRC and I witness an accident, I passed him and recognizes his bike... Sh!t.... I was with this guy along Tandang Sora Flyover... I said to my Snipy he's too fast for us... let him go... and when I pass him on his crash site I stop a few hundred meters and I saw that there's nothing we could do.... I Prayed.... bakit kasi may barrier dun madilim na part ng daan...

Roads sign, lights, lines and driver safety ecucation is evidently lacking in all of our roads. Negligence.... for the local goverment. Bad road design. Widdening the road does'nt stop the traffic problems. Educate the drivers... and stop corruption on roads. Upgrade the Roads Right. Taxes is not for your Pockets.... Commonwhealt is wider than EDSA. and also U-turn slots are the areas most commonly the accident prone areas... Who's to blame?

Last December I went to YRS shop and saw throphy's "Damn this KID can truely RIDE" and I saw his BIKE's and said "Pahimas naman" with an Ingit smile.

The two wheel industry lost an ICON, a HOPE that we Filipino could make a mark on the world of racing. Now its only his Passion and Courage will let others GO ON. We're hopping accident like this must not happen again. Bones be broken, Skin burning, Helmet smashing but not Good life be taken.
